Q2-WK2: Activty No. 04
1. What have you observed in the photo?
2. Under what condition do tropical Cyclones form?
1. It seems to depict the process of adiabatic cooling and warming related to air movement over a mountain. As air ascends a mountain slope, it cools adiabatically. This cooling results in the air reaching its dew point, leading to water vapor condensing and possibly forming clouds or precipitation. Conversely, as the air descends the mountain slope, it warms adiabatically.
2. Tropical cyclones typically form under specific conditions, including warm ocean waters (typically above 26.5°C or 80°F), high humidity in the lower atmosphere, a pre-existing weather disturbance, and relatively light upper-level winds that don't disrupt the storm's development. These conditions provide the necessary fuel and environment for the formation and intensification of tropical cyclones.
